A couple of weeks ago, at Open Source Summit Korea 2026 🇰🇷 , I quietly reached a milestone of my own, just as Linux celebrates its 35th anniversary. 🐧

In August 2016, I attended my first Open Source Summit in Toronto 🇨🇦, which was then called LinuxCon. At the time, I wasn\u2019t yet a Linux kernel developer. There, I met Greg Kroah-Hartman<\/strong><\/a> for the first time during a \u201cMeet Your Favorite Maintainer\u201d session. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻 We talked about the Linux kernel, among other things, and I had the opportunity to ask him several questions.

Little did I know that exactly ten years later, I would take part in my first \u201cAsk the Experts\u201d session. This time, I would be on the other side of a similar conversation, answering questions from attendees and sharing my experience in the Linux kernel community. 👨🏽‍💻 (And Greg himself was answering questions at the table next to mine.)

Looking back, the connection between those two moments feels especially meaningful, and I\u2019m really grateful for the journey and the opportunities I\u2019ve had along the way. 🙏🏼

It\u2019s also a reminder that you never know what may grow from simply showing up, asking questions, and putting yourself out there. 🙌🏼
